Along with the fall comes sweater weather, harvests, and Cask Days.
Sunday October 30th, 2011 is the seventh annual Cask Days. For the first time the event will be held at the University of Toronto’s Hart House. Over 50 casks from all over Canada will be available for tasting. Live music and entertainment will be announced closer to the date. Tickets can be purchased ahead of time.
Cask Ale is the term for unfiltered and unpasteurized beer which is conditioned and served from the cask (the container is was fermented in) and is naturally carbonated. Once the cask is tapped it only has a few days to be consumed. Similar to a best before date. Barvolo has dubbed these days “Cask Days”. If you would like to learn more about cask beer seminars are being held during the event with guest speakers.
