CAMERON’S Toast All Things Food and Beer at The Brewer’s Plate
Great food paired with great brews what’s not to love? On April 18, master chefs and brewers came together with musicians and artists to bring an extraordinary, locally sourced, sustainable feast for a good cause.
This year’s event chaired by local celeb chef, Jamie Kennedy, was in support of the work of Green Thumbs Growing Kids, an award winning organization which offers food growing and environmental education programs to inner-city schools and park sites reaching over 3,000 children each year as well as youth and adults.
Twenty-one outstanding Ontario Craft brewers and 14 celebrated Ontario chefs took over Roy Thomson Hall to offer foodies and beer lovers unlimited tasting of their gourmet dishes and premium products.
Guests learned about beer pairings and the craft of brewing as the chef’s dishes were paired with fresh, unusual, and noteworthy local craft brews drawn only from the Province’s finest Craft Breweries.
CAMERON’S Brewing had the honour of teaming up with Chris McDonald from Cava restaurant, rated by Joanne Kates as one of Canada’s top 10 chefs. According to the famed food critic, his Cava is the closest Toronto gets to a tapas bar in Barcelona.
For the Brewer’s Plate, Chris created a tamale with braised lamb and ‘Nduja sausage cooked in CAMERON’S Auburn Ale and paired with CAMERON’S Rye Pale Ale. The grand finale was a delectable cashew mousse paired with CAMERON’S Dark 266. A toast to the chef and the brewmaster for an unforgettable feast!
