Pick Of The Week: Cameron’s Rye Bock, Ontario
Toronto, ON – April 15, 2014 – The beer style known as bock has evolved over time, from the subtly hopped ales of 14th-century Germany to the leaner yet still malty and vaguely sweet lagers popular in more recent times. This 6.3-per-cent-alcohol, amber-gold example takes the modern road. On the relatively lighter side – visually as well as texturally – it displays a dry, cereal character owing to CAMERON’S smart use of rye grain, a brewery signature. A moderately floral, earthy hop character rounds out the profile of this inspired brew.
